From a eulogy for Wesley Hall by John Tucker,

"Wes Hall was a romantic about many things, but about death he was a realist. He would quote from memory the words of Thomas Gray, from his Elegy Written In A Country Churchyard [Stanza 9]:

'The boast of heraldry, the pomp of power,
And all that beauty, all that wealth e'er gave,
Awaits alike the inevitable hour;
The paths of glory lead but to the grave.'

And from Hamlet, Act 5, Scene 2:

'There's a divinity that shapes our ends
Rough hew them though we may.'
